Woman arrested for embezzlement
Ashley Mace Champion, 26, of 536 Abbott Road Lot 8 in Henderson, North Carolina was arrested and charged with ten counts of embezzlement on December 23, 2010.
County gives JCPC $15k to complete gang study
The Vance County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Monday evening to give the Vance County Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee (JCPC) an additional $15,000 to complete the Vance County Gang Assessment Survey.
Ayscue: city and county “settled on [water] rate”
Vance County Manager Jerry Ayscue told members of the Vance County Board of Commissioners during yesterday evening’s meeting that the county and the City of Henderson have “for the most part settled” on the rate at which Henderson will sell water to the county.

Search warrant uncovers heroin, firearm
On December 29, 2010, members of the Henderson Police Department’s Narcotics Unit and SWAT team executed a search warrant at 563 Spring Street in Henderson, North Carolina after receiving numerous drug complaints about the residence.
No county HR meeting for January
According to County Clerk Kelly Grissom, there will be no Human Resources Committee meeting for the month of January. An email from Grissom stated that there are no position vacancies to be addressed nor any other items that need to be addressed by that committee.
