Council ride-around set for today
Henderson City Council member Ranger Wilkerson, who chairs the Public Works Committee, has set a meeting for this morning at 10:00 a.m. Agenda items include various Public Works matters as well as a Council ride-around.
Two County committees meet today
The Vance County Board of Commissioner’s Public Safety Committee will meet today at 12:00 p.m. in the conference room of County Manager Jerry Ayscue. The County’s Human Resources Committee is tentatively scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m.
Fabrizio appointed to national board
Lou Fabrizio, accountability services director for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, has been appointed to serve a four-year term on the National Assessment Governing Board.
Dropout prevention grants committee convened
The North Carolina General Assembly has convened the Dropout Prevention Grants Committee to distribute funds appropriated during its 2007 session to address the state’s dropout rate.
