Ruptured waterline closes Beckford Drive
A major waterline rupture forced the city to close Beckford Drive to through traffic between West Andrews Avenue and Roanoke Avenue this morning. Repairs are expected to take all day, if not longer, according to an e-mail notice issued by Police Chief Glen Allen. No one filed for the fall elections at the Vance County Board of Elections today. That makes eight consecutive business days without anyone stepping up in Henderson, and we still haven’t heard anything from Middleburg. On the other hand, candidates have more than two weeks left to sign up, so don’t panic about blank-ballot contingencies just yet.
