Tobacco Research Referendum polling location
The North Carolina Tobacco Research Referendum will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Morris White, Vance County Extension Director, said one polling place has been established in the County. The polling location is the Vance County Extension Office located at 305 Young Street in Henderson. Hit and Run Death Investigation Update
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division have arrested three individuals in the above referenced matter. The investigation into this matter revealed that the victim, Willard Crosson had been struck by a motor vehicle and left lying by the roadside. NCDA&CS stops sale of alfalfa hay potentially adulterated with blister beetles
RALEIGH – State officials issued a stop-sale order Monday on alfalfa hay received from Kansas and being sold at Murphy Farm Hay and Feed in Louisburg and Jones Farm Hay and Feed in Middlesex for blister beetle contamination, which can be deadly for horses. Store owners voluntarily recalled the alfalfa hay when they learned about the possible contamination and are cooperating with feed inspectors from the N.C. The North Carolina Main Street Center has selected four municipalities to participate in its new Downtown Associate Community program. Students in the eighth grade at Eaton-Johnson Middle School learned about the hotel business and hospitality industry during a presentation on September 9, by Doneva Chavis-Battle, director of sales for Country Inn & Suites in Rocky Mount. RALEIGH – The annual window of opportunity for ordering seedlings from the N.C. Forest Service Nursery Program is open. CDBG Now Funds Demolition of Unusable Buildings
Nearly half a million dollars in federal funds are helping ready an industrial property in Lumberton for new businesses and jobs. In August, the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved a request by the City of Lumberton for economic development funds under the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
