Vance-Granville Community College’s 31st Annual Endowment Fund Golf Tournament, presented by Union Bank, will be held at the Henderson Country Club on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. All event proceeds support the mission of the college, the Endowment Fund and student scholarships. A new scholarship endowed at Vance-Granville Community College will serve as a lasting tribute to the work of a local service organization. The Oxford Lodge (No. 103) of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, now inactive, served the Granville County area for many years. Now, funds donated and collected by club members over the years will create the “Oxford Lodge, No. 103, I.O.O.F. Henderson Traffic Stop and Search Warrant Reveals Heroin and Cocaine
On Monday, April 6, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit conducted a vehicle stop in Henderson. The vehicle was being driven by Kevonna Jones. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a quantity of heroin and cocaine. After further investigation, officers sought and obtained a search warrant for the residence located at 330 Coghill Dickerson Lane in Henderson. VGCC holds Summer Term New Student Orientation sessions
The Summer 2015 term at Vance-Granville Community College begins Tuesday, May 26, and orientation sessions for new students have already begun. Attending an orientation session is required for all new students enrolling in any of the college’s curriculum programs, and for students who are returning to VGCC after being away for three or more years. NCDOT Converting Intersection in Franklin County to All-Way Stop
RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to modify the intersection of N.C. 98 and Pearces Road west of Bunn at Five Points in Franklin County to a permanent all-way stop on Wednesday, April 15, weather permitting. The intersection currently requires vehicles to stop on Pearces Road, but traffic on NC 98 does not have to stop.
