On Monday, November 17, 2014, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit and an agent with the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at Rosemart, 1205 West Andrews Avenue, Henderson. The warrant service was a result of complaints of drug sales coming directly from the store. A search of the premises revealed two firearms, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Section of Jonesville Road Closing for Rolesville Bypass Work
RALEIGH — As progress on the U.S. 401 Rolesville Bypass project continues, the contractor plans to close a section of Jonesville Road to build its connection with the bypass, starting the morning of Monday, Nov. 24. Nine stores pay fines for price-scanning errors
RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division has collected fines from stores in Johnston, Mecklenburg, Mitchell and Wake counties for excessive price-scanning errors. The Standards Division conducts periodic, unannounced inspections of a business’ price-scanner system to check for accuracy between the prices advertised and the prices that ring up at the register. PLC course at VGCC draws interest of local industries
Employees of numerous local companies recently completed a Vance-Granville Community College course that offered instruction in Programmable Logic Controllers. The 96-hour course, “Introduction to PLC’s,” was held at VGCC’s Main Campus from August through November. A Programmable Logic Controller is a type of computer used for automation of electromechanical processes, such as directing machinery on a factory assembly line. North Carolina’s Quick Pass and Georgia’s Peach Pass Now Interchangeable
RALEIGH –Drivers who have a North Carolina Quick Pass transponder for their vehicles can use their device to pay for traveling on the I-85 Express Lanes near Atlanta, as well as any future toll roads that accept the Georgia Peach Pass transponder.
