Henderson Xmas tree lighting Nov. 30
Henderson Mayor Pete O’Geary announced at the most recent meeting of the Henderson City Council that a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at Memorial Part on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Memorial Park is located at the intersection of Charles and Garnett Streets on the west side of the railroad underpass. According to the mayor, there will be choirs, fellowship, and “lots of Christmas spirit”.

On October 11, 2010, City of Henderson Fire Department personnel went door to door to talk to residents in the City of Henderson about fire safety, checking smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.

The Vance County Board of Commissioners’ General Government Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. The commission’s Education Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. Both meetings will be in the County Manager’s conference room. That room is located in the County Administration Building, 122 Young Street in Henderson, North Carolina.
