Red Cross issues urgent call for all blood types
Editor’s Note: The previous date and time given for the blood drive at The Pegram Agency were incorrect. This reprint of the original article that ran on July 14, 2008 gives the correct information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. While temperatures and fuel prices continue to rise this summer, the American Red Cross reports that the blood inventory levels are so low it is unable to sufficiently meet the demand of local hospitals.
City HR Committee to meet
A Henderson City Council Human Resources Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. and will be held at the Operations Center.

Family & friends day blood drive
There will be a Vance County American Red Cross blood drive on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at New Life Church located at 3485 Business Hwy. 158 (Old Oxford Rd.). The Family and Friends Day event also includes a health fair, gospel singing and cookout at the same location.
Special Henderson City Coucil meeting Monday
Henderson Mayor James D. “Pete” O’Geary has called a special meeting of the Henderson City Council as noted to hold a public hearing on a rezoning request by E & B Partnership to rezone property located at 942 West Andrews Avenue, 3.275 +/- acres from B2 to B4 (Vance County Tax Map 0097, Block 03, Lot 011).
