Board of Ed. to hold special session
The Vance County Board of Education will hold a special session on May 21, 2008 at 5:15 p.m. in the superintendent’s conference room at the Administrative Services Center at 1725 Graham Avenue. The purpose of the meeting is to hold an executive session on personnel matters and to consider personnel recommendations for the 2008-2009 school year.

This year’s state budget revisions include an average 6.9% raise for teachers. In the past, the word “average” has translated to mean “big increases for years 0-3 of the salary schedule and beans for everyone else, since they’re too ruined to change professions by now”. Forgive our cynicism.
