There will be an American Red Cross blood drive at the Vance Granville Community College Civic Center today, Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Donors are needed. Land Planning & ride-around this morning
The Land Planning and Development Committee will be meeting this morning in the Conference Room at City Hall to discuss prospective members of the Land Use Plan Steering Committee. Immediately following that meeting, the Public Works Committee will go an a ride-around to survey streets for this season’s repaving schedule.
City and County to meet jointly
The Henderson City Council and the Vance County Board of Commissioners will meet on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Bank of America Building conference room on Garnett Street. According to an email from County Clerk Kelly Grissom, jointly funded programs will be discussed. However, it has been indicated in meetings of Henderson City Council meetings that other issues will be debated by the two bodies, such as scheduling a regular meeting time for officials in the …
Corbitt ceremony a community success
Between 75 and 100 people turned out for the presentation of a historical marker commemorating the Corbitt Company this morning in McGregor Hall in Henderson.

The Corbitt Preservation Association will be holding a ceremony for the presentation of a historical plaque that will be placed on US 158 on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at McGregor Hall in Henderson.

Look around you. According to WRAL, every twelfth person you see has used illegal drugs in the past month. Just for the record, note that the article shows that teachers have one of the lowest rates of illegal drug use. Perhaps its because of what we see drugs doing to children and their families every day. The microphone is on. Step up.
