There will be a joint meeting of the Public Safety and Public Works Committees at noon today at City Hall. A meeting of the FAIR Committee will immediately follow or begin at 1:00 p.m., whichever comes later. We’re told that a light lunch will be available. The Vance County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 6:00 p.m. in their Chambers at the County Administration Building, otherwise known as the old courthouse. We’ll be curious to note if fire protection comes up during tonight’s discussion. Should the county make the effort to raise the level of fire protection throughout Vance, not just the Golden Belt?
