N.C. strawberry growers expect strong season
RALEIGH – Despite a late cold snap, local strawberry growers are expecting a strong season that will last until the first part of June. “The winter was challenging, but local growers prevailed by using a combination of row covers and irrigation to preserve the crop with minimal loss,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. Detours Planned as Road Work Continues on Rolesville Bypass Project
Raleigh- As progress continues on the U.S.401 Rolesville Bypass project, NCDOT contractors have two closures planned, both starting this weekend, weather permitting. The first closure is scheduled to last 12 hours and will begin Saturday, April 18, at 10 p.m. Contractors plan to close a section of U.S. 401 between just north of Louisbury Road and Forestville Road.
