Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation Continues its Support of Louisburg College, Awarding $150,000 in Grant Funds to Benefit Women Scholars

LOUISBURG, N.C.— Louisburg College has been granted $150,000 to continue Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarships, which benefit the College’s female scholars. In accordance to the guidelines prescribed by the founder, the grantee awards institutions scholarship funding to award to Christian women who reside in one of the following southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Greenville Getting Results on Worker Wellness

In 2010, the City of Greenville in eastern North Carolina opted to self-insure its 850 employees. The city asked its insurance carrier, Cigna Health Care, to implement a wellness initiative. After offering a $25 incentive encouraging people to participate, just 23 percent of the city’s employees completed a health screening and health risk assessment. North Carolina Exports Grow By 7% in 2014

North Carolina exported a record $31 billion in merchandise to international markets in 2014, according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Commerce. RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is accepting proposals from nonprofits and government agencies for the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The program aims to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in the marketplace.
