Morning round still open for VGCC Golf Tournament on May 6

The 30th annual Vance-Granville Community College Endowment Fund Golf Tournament will be held at the Henderson Country Club on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. All event proceeds support the mission of the college, the Endowment Fund and student scholarships. The afternoon round is now full, tournament organizers have announced, but slots are still available for golfers in the morning round. The one-day ServSafe Recertification course will soon be offered at Vance-Granville Community College’s Main Campus in Vance County. Suspect Arrested in Shooting at Chestnut and Church Street Friday

On April 11, 2014 around 2:26 PM officers with the Henderson Police Department were in the area of Church Street and Chestnut Street, in Henderson, when the officers heard shots being fired. Officers located an 18 year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers were also able to locate the suspect and took him immediately into custody.
