The Vance County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 4:00 p.m. in their chambers in the County Administration Building in special session.
The purpose of their meeting is to appoint Sheriff-Elect Peter White to the position of Sheriff of Vance County. Sheriff R. Thomas Breedlove will be retiring at the end of the month, slightly before his position officially expires.
The Board also plans to adopt resolutions and meet in closed session over a legal matter.
