We must report a crucial development in the war of words between the Rev. C.J. Dale and the Police Department: A massive police presence hit the immediate country club area Friday night.
So it wasn’t exactly the terror-filled drug raid Dale has been complaining about in Flint Hill and calling for on the western side of town. Instead, police officers were doing traffic duty in the parking lot of the Henderson Country Club for Maria Parham Medical Center’s 80th anniversary gala.
But maybe the police were being sneaky, as Dale always seems to suspect. Maybe they know something about the moneyed crowd who could bid more than $6,000 for a fancy weekend at the beach.
After all, some folks in this town think it’s criminal the way the members of a certain foundation who were at Friday’s celebration have flung around money on our behalf.
