Pick of the day: A prince of a novel

We normally would wait until Saturday to post Saturday’s pick, but, to badly paraphrase Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett, it’s Saturday somewhere. More to the point, it’s July 16 somewhere, and that means the magic day has arrived: “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is on store shelves. Because Henderson has no real bookstore, many people ordered the book in the Triangle or online, and, like a midsummer Christmas, packages with the sixth book in J.K. Rowling’s series should arrive at homes today.
Wal-Mart is staying open late to sell the book at 12:01 a.m., or you can order it for 40 percent off and free shipping at Amazon.
