Oakridge Avenue attacker arrested

A Henderson man was arrested Sunday and charged in an attack on a senior citizen in her Oakridge Avenue home Saturday.

A man choked Juliana Foster, 72, forced her to write a personal check and stole prescription medication from Foster’s home at 1229 Oakridge Ave. on Saturday evening, according to a news release from police Capt. Charles Crumpler, who lives in the same neighborhood as Foster.

Foster did not seek medical attention.

A relative reported the attack to police about 4 p.m. Sunday, and Detective J.N. Ragland arrested Bryan Keith Poythress, 27, of 521 Birch Circle within hours.

Poythress is charged with second-degree kidnapping, assault and robbery. He was jailed in lieu of $75,000 bond.
