Council may vote on amortization ordinance

Tonight’s Henderson City Council meeting will once again feature several public hearings.

The first public hearing is a continuation of a hearing from March 27 of this year and will consider the renewal or extension of the Time Warner Cable franchise. The FAIR Committee recented approved the hiring of a consultant to assist with the contract negotiation.

The second public hearing is on a request from Ms. Henrietta Clark to rezone 25 acres at 2550 Highway 39 North.

Immediately following, there will be a public hearing on an anti-graffiti ordinace.

Finally, there will be a continued public hearing on the amortization ordinance for the compliance or removal of certain non-conforming auto-repair facilities. It seems likely that the council will vote on the ordinance at the conclusion of tonight’s hearing.

The council will also vote on an ordinance making technical amendments to the soil erosion and sedimentation control provisions of the city code.
