Etheridge web page for gas price info

WASHINGTON – As N.C. families continue to struggle to make ends meet under high gas prices, U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) today unveiled a new webpage, www.house.gov/etheridge/gasprices.htm , to provide constituents with the latest information on gas prices and his work in Congress to lower them.

“Record-high gas prices are squeezing the pocketbooks of North Carolina families,” said Etheridge. “This new webpage will provide resources for constituents to search for the lowest gas prices in their area, report any cases of price gouging, and to learn about my efforts in Congress to develop an energy policy that works for North Carolina families.”

The page includes links to sites where constituents can report possible price gouging or other manipulative pricing practices to the U.S. and N.C. governments. It also provides links to allow constituents to search for the lowest gas prices in their area and the average gas price in the state.

The page is a one-stop location for constituents to learn about Etheridge’s work in Congress to lower gas prices. Etheridge has introduced comprehensive legislation to promote the production and use of biofuels, such as biodiesel and ethanol, in the United States in order to reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil. H.R. 5372 will allow America to increase its energy independence by growing fuel on America’s farms. It will rapidly expand the production and distribution of biofuels, encourage the deployment of new engine technologies for flex-fuel, hybrid and biodiesel vehicles, and encourage cutting edge research to develop the next revolution in renewable energy.
