Friday’s open line

A source close to the Vance County Board of Elections informed us yesterday that the decision to have Sunday early voting was actually a choice between satellite early voting (that is, early voting in locations other than the Henry A. Denis Building) or Sunday voting, and that Sunday voting was the less expensive of the two alternatives. This, of course, begs the question of why either one was considered necessary.

In the absence of commentary from James Kearney or other members of the Board of Elections, we open the floor to debate and speculation on today’s open line.
