The 17th Annual Business Exposition, EXPO 2006, held on Tuesday, October 10, drew approximately 1,200 residents to the Vance-Granville Community College Civic Center from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Organized by VGCC’s Small Business Center, the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of Warren County, and the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, the event showcased 73 area businesses. Area residents browsed through the booths and talked to business owners and operators, some of whom were taking orders for their products or services.

This year, Progress Energy and Wake Electric were Gold Sponsors. Silver Sponsors were Time Warner Cable, Vulcan Construction Materials, Granville Medical Center and the School of Graphic Arts. Media sponsors included The Daily Dispatch, The Butner-Creedmoor News, Oxford Public Ledger, The Franklin Times, The Warren Record, WIZS Radio, WLUS Radio, WARR Radio and Country 102 Radio.

Throughout the day, Durham Coca Cola/Classic Food provided beverages and Staffmark served fresh popcorn. Guests also found that most exhibitors provided various treats and prizes.

The last two hours (5:00 -7:00 p.m.) of EXPO were designated as a “Business After Hours”, with hors d’oeuvres prepared and served by Chick-Fil-A, Gray’s Gourmet/Wildflower Café and the Silo.
