Alleged robbers caught after amateur tail, car crash


On December 15, 2006, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to a report from Radio Shack at 1257 Dabney Drive in reference to a report of an armed robbery.

While responding, officers were advised by 911 communication that the suspect vehicle had been involved in a single car collision on Graham Avenue at Fairway Drive.

Upon police arrival at the scene of the collision, the victim, an employee of Radio Shack, approached officers and advised them that a Hispanic male had robbed him of the business’s deposit by brandishing a knife. The victim stated that he had followed the suspect’s vehicle, driven by a black male, up to the point of the collision.

Both suspects were apprehended in close proximity to the collision. They were identified as Jesus Rizzo Montelongo, 23, of 416 Ranes Drive in Henderson, and Jermaine Hargrove, 18, of 256 Keene Street, also in Henderson. Both were charged with felony conspiracy to commit armed robbery and robbery with a dangerous weapon and received $10,000 bond.

They are scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2007.
