Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for those who are unaware. Unlike other holidays, there are not yet a clearly defined set of observances or rituals to celebrate the life of this great American. Hopefully, tradition will emerge as time goes on, and hopefully not in the form of department store sales.
In an unrelated point, if anyone knows anything about a large rock called “Balance Rock”, please give us a shout at homeinhenderson@nc.rr.com. A former Henderson resident advised us that he and his wife had a snapshot taken by it in 1951 before they were married and would like to go back for another picture. How can we not do our best to aid a request like that?
