Raleigh -— Today, N.C. House Speaker Joe Hackney (D-Orange), Speaker Pro Tempore William Wainwright (D-Craven), Majority Leader Hugh Holliman (D-Davidson) and members of the House Democratic Caucus held a press conference to announce their seven-point plan, which seeks to improve education, health care, our state’s economy, the safety of our communities and our environment for North Carolinians living in all regions of our state during the 2007 session of the General Assembly.

Curbside trash pick-up rejected by Council
The Daily Dispatch is reporting this morning that the Henderson City Council rejected moving to the proposed curbside trash pick-up system by a vote of 4-3.

Breaking and entering arrest made, cocaine seized
On March 7, 2007, Vondell Tyshang Gregory, 18, of 851 Julia Street in Henderson was arrested by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division after an investigation into a breaking and entering that occurred on February 24 of this year.
