Public hearing on dropout reform

The House Initiative on Dropout Reform will meet July 12 in Halifax County to allow administrators, teachers, parents, students and community leaders from the region and across the state to participate in a public hearing on how to improve the state’s graduation rate.

This meeting at William R. Davie Middle School in Roanoke Rapids will be the fourth public hearing. Representatives Angela Bryant, Michael Wray, Lucy Allen and Annie Mobley, along with leaders of the Initiative, Representatives Earline Parmon and Susan Fisher, are working together to bring this serious issue before our citizens. We hope to hear from all sectors of the community about the issues facing students at risk of dropping out.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
