The house I paid $70,000 for in 2003 (which, incidentally, also appraised for $70,000 in 2003) is now worth, according to the Vance County tax office, something over $94,000.
Huh? Did someone put an addition on it while I wasn’t looking? For my part, I’ve been watching the soffit and fascia rot away and wishing I had the money to do something about it.
Anyone else have a horror story?
