Boomerangs robbery comes around for suspects


On January 17, 2007, at 12:01 a.m., members of the Henderson Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery with occurred at Boomerangs convenience store located at 1201 Dabney Drive.

The clerk advised police that two individuals entered. One individual was armed with a handgun.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken during the robbery. There were no injuries during the incident.

An investigation was conducted by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. As a result of the investigation, the individuals listed below have been arrested and charged with the robbery at Boomerangs:

Charges: Robbery with a dangerous weapon (1 count)
Bond: $25,000

Sherrod Jones, 20
4101 Harry Davis Road
Oxford, NC
Charges: Robbery with a dangerous weapon (3 counts), Conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon (3 counts)
Bond: $250,000

Leo Antoine Alston, 23
203 First Street
Oxford, NC
Charges: Robbery with a dangerous weapon (3 counts), Conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon (3 counts)
Bond: $250,000

Upon further investigation, the latter two of the individuals listed above were also charged with the December 28, 2007 robbery which occurred at the Oxford Road convenience store located at 2303 Oxford Road and with the armed robbery which occurred on January 8, 2008 at the Rosemart Shell located at 1022 Ruin Creek Road.

Agencies assisting in this investigation included members of the Henderson Police Department Patrol Division, the Oxford Police Department, the Granville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Vance County Sheriff’s Office.
