County forms ad hoc committee for joint property
The Vance County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to form an ad hoc committee to negotiate the final disposition of the Vance County Historical Society’s museum (otherwise known as the Southern National Bank or First National Bank building) as well as the former library on Rose Avenue.

Auditor Mike Bradford reported to the Vance County Board of Commissioners during its regular Monday evening meeting that the county had received an “unqualified” audit, the best audit report that can be received.
Student drafting and architecture show today
The Drafting Program of Northern Vance High School is hosting a special event to feature work by students during the “Dream On” drafting and architectural show from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library on Breckenridge Street in downtown Henderson.

A half-kilo of crack cocaine seized by Henderson police One-half kilogram of crack cocaine was seized by the Henderson Police Department after a warrant search of 238 Keene Avenue. No further information was made available.
