HPD’s Robinson receives award

On Friday, February 1, 2008, Lieutenant Irvin W. Robinson, Jr. of the Henderson Police Department was awarded the NC Safe Kids North Carolina “Outstanding Member of the Year Award for 2007” at the organizations annual convention.

The award was given in recognition of Robinson’s dedication to the mission of the Safe Kids program “to reduce and prevent accidental childhood injuries from birth through age fourteen”.

The honor also recognized his efforts in organizing child car seat and seat belt checks as well as other Safe Kids efforts in Vance County in the last year.

More information on the Safe Kids program can be found at their website.

This award joins the Henderson/Vance Crime Stoppers Samuel Person Memorial Award for 2007, the North Carolina Crime Stopper’s Coordinator of the Year for 2005, and a special award from the NC Crime Prevention Officer’s Association in 2005 as part of his recognition in the areas of crime prevention and community service.

The Henderson Police Department commends and congratulates Lt. Robinson on the award.
