Butterfield to promote on-line tax preparation


Free Online Federal and State Tax Preparation Services

for Qualifying North Carolina Taxpayers


Congressman G. K. Butterfield (D. NC-1), Bernie McKay of the Intuit Financial Freedom Foundation, David Macklin of the Computer & Communications Industry Association as well as leaders from prominent community-based organizations will be discussing the on-line tax preparation program at the H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

Congressman G. K. Butterfield (D-N.C.), the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) and community leaders will host a press conference to announce the availability of an online tax assistance programs aimed at helping taxpayers who are lower-income, in the military or EITC eligible. The program provides participants with assistance in electronically preparing and filing their federal and North Carolina tax returns for FREE. Free File is available to all North Carolina taxpayers who qualify.
