Honor your school social worker

National Professional Social Worker Month

March is National Professional Social Worker month.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the social workers of Vance County for all that they do to keep the children of our community safe. They’re underpaid, overworked, and have to face the human condition at its ugliest on an almost daily basis.

Social work makes teaching look like a sinecure and a teacher’s paycheck look like a fortune.

We’ve often had to rely on social workers to make sure that the children we teach are getting the basic care that all children need and that all parents should provide. We’re glad that our school social worker is there, and we know that without him or her many children’s lives would be very much for the worse.
