Four shot in Henderson this weekend


Shooting at America’s Best Value Inn

On June 14, 2008 at 12:30 a.m. officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to 200 Parham Road in reference to someone being shot.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, Tron Barnes, 27, of Henderson, had been transported to Maria Parham Medical Center by private vehicle.

The victim told police that two people were fighting in the hotel and he tried to intervene. He said he heard three shots and felt pain on the left side of his face.

Barnes was treated for a gunshot wound at the Maria Parham Medical Center where he was listed in good condition.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Shooting at Days Inn

On June 15, 2008 at 1:27 a.m. HPD officers responded to Days Inn at 1052 Ruin Creek Road in reference to a large fight and reports of someone shot.

Upon arrival, officers observed approximately 100 people in the rear parking lot.

The victim, Horace Brame, Jr., 32, of Henderson told police that he had been shot while standing in the rear parking lot of the hotel.

Brame was transported to the Maria Parham Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.

While officers were at Maria Parham Medical Center speaking to Brame, another shooting victim arrived. He was identified as Eric Bates, Jr., 21, of Henderson.

Bates told police that he had also been shot at Days Inn. He was treated at the hospital where he was listed in good condition.

The investigation into this incident is continuing by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Shooting at 746 Southerland Street

On June 15, 2008, at 2:00 a.m., Jabri Williams, 21, stated that he was at 746 Southerland Street in the yard of the residence.

Williams told police that he heard several shots. He sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. He was treated at Maria Parham Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.

An investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Henderson Police Department is continuing.
