Fatal stabbing on E. Andrews Avenue


On July 4, 2008 at 12:28 a.m., officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to a call to 329 E. Andrews Avenue concerning a report of someone being stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers found Ralph Cory Myers, 23, of the above address lying inside of the residence. Myers had been stabbed and was unresponsive.

EMS responded to the scene and unsuccessfully attempted to revive the victim. Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.

After an investigation by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, Hattie Diane Myers, 18, was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder.

Hattie Diane Myers is the sister of the victim.

Hattie Diane Myers is currently being held in the Vance County Jail without privilege of bond pending a July 21 court appearance.

The investigation tends to show that an altercation occurred between the victim and his sister and that she stabbed him, causing the fatal wound.
