Pam Glover to become new city clerk

Pamela E. Glover, a long time city employee, has been appointed City Clerk by the Henderson City Council on Monday night. The appointment will be effective November 1 due to city’s selective position freeze.

Ms. Glover is currently a Code Compliance Inspector in the Code Compliance Dept.

Additionally, the 23 year veteran city employee has worked in numerous city offices and departments including serving as administrative assistant in the administrative offices of the city where she gained experience working with the then City Clerk Dianne White.

Ed Wyatt, Interim City Manager commenting on this appointment said, “We are most proud that this most conscientious, loyal and long standing employee has been appointed to this most important city post. I know that she will make a great contribution to the city and its officials.”

Ms. Glover graduated from Taylor Business Institute of Plainfield, New Jersey, where she earned a Clerical Science Diploma with a Major in Secretarial Science.

Through her career, she has completed numerous work-related continuing education courses, especially from Vance Granville Community College.

Glover graduated in 2004 from the Leadership Vance Program. During the same year she received a certificate as a Notary Public. This is essential for a city clerk.

In her personal life, she is most active in her church, the Christian Faith Center in Creedmoor, NC with Pastor Brenda Timberlake Ministries where she sings with the choir. One of her hobbies is photography, and she likes to attend plays. In her spare time, she volunteers her time with the Warren County Arts Council where she is a member of the board.

Ms. Glover is married to Michael Glover. Together they are parents to college-graduate daughters Tahira Scales and Teyah Scates. Their son Al-Tariq Glover is a senior at Warren County High School. A stepson, Michael Glover, Jr. currently attends A&T Greensboro. Antonio Glover is a recent graduate of Western Vance High School.
