City appoints new HR manager


Jeannie Barrow has been appointed the Human Resources Manager for the City of Henderson effective August 25, 2008.

She succeeds Pam Brame who assumed the position in May with Onslow County.

Ms. Barrow, a resident of Vance County, is a graduate of N.C. Central University School of Law. She is a cum laude graduate of Barton College with double majors and double minors. Barrow was the recipient of a number of scholarships at Barton, and she was honored by being selected to be listed in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities in 2002.

She is currently a Project Attorney with Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in Durham.
During law school, she worked as an intern for Williams and Bagshawe, LLP in Warrenton, NC.

Prior to attending law school, she taught social science courses at Kerr-Vance Academy.

She has participated in volunteer activities, including serving as a teacher for children with learning disabilities at Omni Vision in Durham.

Ed Wyatt, Interim City Manager, in remarking on the appointment, indicated that the City is most fortunate to have been able to employ such a capable person that will approach her work with a great deal of enthusiasm, interest and commitment.
