No decision on opening Henderson emergency shelter


According to Assistant City Manager Frank Frazier, a briefing was conducted at 4:00 p.m. today by Brian Short of the Vance County Emergency Operations Center.

The meeting was attended by emergency personnel and Henderson city staff.

The city is watching Hanna “very closely” and has personnel on standby to deal with problems that may occur as a result of the storm.

At the time of the briefing, no decision has been made regarding the opening of an emergency shelter.

The city advises that residents call 911 in the event of an emergency.
