Police make arrest in kidnapping case


On April 1, 2009, Frederick Hymon of 524 Grant Street reported that two black males entered his residence.

The suspects tied the victim’s hands and pulled the victim from his residence and struck him several times and took his wallet which contained an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

The suspects attempted to force the victim into the trunk of their vehicle. The victim managed to escape from the suspects, and the suspects fled from the area in a vehicle.

After an investigation which was conducted by members of the Criminal Investigations Division, Jermaine Knott, 22, of 720 Highland Avenue in Henderson was arrested and charged with second degree kidnapping and common law robbery. Knott was place under a $53,100 bond pending a May 18, 2009 court appearance.
