HPD makes arrests in internet cafe robbery case

On July 6, 2009, officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Brothers Internet Cafe located at 1549 Dabney Drive in Henderson, North Carolina.

Upon arrival, employees advised officers that a suspect entered the store wearing a black shirt, blue jeans with a red bandanna over his face, and armed with a handgun entered the location and demanded money.

The suspect left the business with and undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

On July 22, 2009, after an investigation was conducted by members of the Criminal Investigations Division, Jatavious Jerome Reid, 17, of 112 Carmel Ridge Road in Henderson, North Carolina was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Reid was placed under a $150,000 bond pending a July 27, 2009 court appearance.

In this same incident, James Hargrove, Jr. of 207 Welcome Avenue in Vance County was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Hargrove was placed under a $50,000 bond.
