The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire…

On January 15, 2010, the Henderson Fire Department conducted a training exercise in the area of Alexander and Harriet Streets in Henderson.

The exercise consisted of the controlled burning of 815 Harriet Street, an abandoned house slated for disposal recently by the Henderson City Council.

In addition to providing valuable training to fire fighters, the blaze rid the city of yet another nuisance structure.

Using flares and bales of hay, fire fighters set and extinguished the conflagration many times before allow the subdivided house to be consumed.
