Op. Medicine Drop collects nearly 10,000 pills

Safe Kids Henderson-Vance, the Henderson Police Department, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, and the Five County Area Mental Health Authority announced today that the Operation Medicine Drop prescription drug take-back events held during Poison Prevention Week collected and disposed of 9,887 dosages of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs from the public.

The collections from the event include:

March 17th at Mast Family Drug Center: 4,380 dosages

March 18th at Henderson Fire Station 1 & Vance County Fire Station: 1,296 dosages

March 20th at the H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library: 4,211 dosages
