On April 7, 2010 at 10:56 a.m. members of the Henderson Police Department’s Patrol Division along with members of the Criminal Investigations Division responded to a Henderson residence in reference to a sexual assault that had occurred.

Upon arrival, officers found a female who had sustained injuries from the alleged incident.
The victim stated that the suspect entered her residence through the back door and proceeded to enter her bedroom where she was sleeping. The victim was awakened by the suspect who was sexually assaulting her. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident but did have signs of an assault.
Upon further investigation by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, James Darnell Branch was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
