HPD makes arrest for attempted B&E


On April 22, 2010 around 1:00 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to 330 West Belle Street, Henderson in reference to an attempted breaking and entering.

Upon the arrival of Power Shift officers, two suspects were located leaving the area. The suspects fled on foot and officers pursued one of the suspects, apprehending him suspect near Burwell Avenue and Parham Street.

Shaun Durham, 24, of 2945 Kelly Road, Henderson, North Carolina was identified as being one of the perpetrators in the breaking and entering.

Although a perimeter was set up in the area and a canine track was conducted, officers were unsuccessful in locating the other suspect.

Durham was arrested and charged with attempted breaking and entering and felony conspiracy to commit breaking and entering. He was given a $25,000 secured bond and remains in the Vance County Jail pending a court hearing of May 17, 2010.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Section are continually developing leads on the identity of the other suspect, and more arrests may be pending.
