ABC Composite Board reappoints Clark, Hannon

The Vance County Board of Commissioners began its regular July meeting by first convening as the Alcohol Board of Control Composite Board in order to appoint/reappoint members to the Alcohol Board of Control (ABC) and to appoint the chair of that board as well.

The Composite Board includes the mayor of Henderson and a representative from the Vance County Board of Education. Henderson Mayor Pete O’Geary was present for the city and Margaret Ellis was present to vote for the board of education.

Henrietta Clark and Tom Hannon, who both currently serve on the ABC had both reapplied for a seat on the ABC. Retired Vance County Sheriff’s Office officer Eddie Vick also applied for one of the vacant seats.

Without discussion, Commissioner Dan Brummitt moved to reappoint both Clark and Hannon to the ABC, a motion that was immediately seconded by Commissioner Eddie Wright.

Both were reappointed by unanimous vote.

Current ABC Chair Clark was also appointed to another term as ABC chair by a second unanimous vote of the Composite Board as well.
