Man arrested for vehicle B&E


On July 23, 2010 a patrol officer working his assigned zone responded to 944 E. Montgomery Street in reference to a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in progress.

Upon arrival to the area, the officer located a black male breathing heavily at the corner of E. Montgomery Street and Cherry Street and detained him. After further investigation by the patrol officer, it was determined that the person that was being detained, Jerry Williams, 42, of 213 Booth Avenue in Henderson, North Carolina was the suspect in the breaking and entering.

Williams was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle. Williams received a $5,000 secured bond and remains in the Vance County Jail pending a court hearing on August 30, 2010.
