Vance County Planning & Development Director Jordan McMillen reported to county commissioners on Monday evening that 23 abandoned mobile home units have been taken down so far this year.
He added that another six are in line to be demolished next, and that he believes that another four to five units can be razed in addition with the remaining funds.
“I think we’ve made a difference,” McMillen told members.
Member Dan Brummitt asked McMillen whether Vance County is in line to get additional funding. McMillen assured Brummitt that that is the case.
Before the program began, McMillen’s department counted 455 abandoned mobile homes in Vance County.
