Carey Chapel Crossing will be annexed to Henderson’s Ward 4 pending approval by the United States Department of Justice.
The unanimous vote by the Henderson City Council came after a public hearing at which no one spoke for or against the annexation during Monday evening’s regular council meeting.
According to City Attorney John Zollicoffer, the annexation will add an estimated 38 residents over nineteen lots. He added that this will not upset the ratio of voting numbers of any of the city’s four wards, but rather it will decrease the population difference between the wards based on the 2000 census.
