I-85 fatality on reportedly stolen motorcycle

On August 14, 2010 around 10:11 p.m. officers with the Henderson Police Department Uniform Patrol Division responded to I-85 northbound near the 214 xxit, East Andrews Avenue in reference to a single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, officers found Clyde Warren Wilson, 37, of 9707 NC 39 Highway North in Henderson, North Carolina deceased.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver allegedly was operating in a careless and reckless manner and at an excessive speed. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and was hit by at least two motorists afterwards.

No charges will be filed against the passing motorists.

The motorcycle Clyde Wilson was operated had been reported as stolen to the Vance County Sheriff’s Office.
