A fire occurred earlier this afternoon at the Vance County Schools’ Administrative Services Center.
The fire was characterized as small by Henderson Fire Department firefighters on scene. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The building also houses the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments. Previously, it was the headquarters of Harriet & Henderson, Inc. before it was purchased by the school system.
Vance County Assistant Superintendent Ronald Gregory was present at the scene. Maintenance Director Clairborne Woods was working with firefighters on the roof of the structure as they looked for the cause of the minor blaze.
Employees were allowed back into the building at approximately 3:45 p.m..
