On Friday November 5, 2010, Officer J. Freeman of the Henderson Police Department Highway Traffic Safety Unit conducted a vehicle stop on I-85 at the 213 mile marker.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ronnie Scott Tingen, 37, of 672 Garrett Road, Lot 10 in Henderson.

A records check revealed that Tingen was wanted in the state of Texas for ten counts of theft from an elderly person. Tingen was taken into custody and charged in North Carolina under a fugitive warrant and was placed into the Vance County Jail without bond. An extradition hearing has been scheduled for Vance County District Court on November 15, 2010.
The Texas investigation was conducted by the Midland Texas Police Department.
